Home is not always a place.
Sometimes it is something we carry within the way we see the world.
I never inherited my heritage as history. I inherited it as a way of seeing.
Growing up surrounded by Persian visual traditions—Persian miniature painting, calligraphy, and manuscript illumination—these forms never felt like distant historical references. They became part of my instinct, shaping how I observe, imagine, and create.
With Moda Persa, I wanted these traditions to enter a different surface. Silk, cotton, satin, and viscose became spaces where painting could breathe differently, allowing garments to carry fragments of Persian culture without becoming replicas of the past.
The collection brings together classical Persian miniatures and contemporary interpretations, creating a dialogue between centuries of image-making and the present moment.
For Zara Saberi, heritage is never something fixed. It changes with us, travels with us, and finds new ways to be seen.
